What a Dentist Can See When Looking Over Panoramic X-ray's

Panoramic X-Rays Embree Dentistry MI 48104
When you go to the dentist, sometimes you might get x-rays done on your whole mouth. With technology rapidly advancing, it is easier than ever to get them done these days.

All you have to do is stand with your chin up against a metal bar while biting down on a mouthpiece they give you. It is entirely painless and, depending on how many pictures of your mouth need to be taken; it will be done in no time at all.

What do Dentist's See When Looking at Panoramic X-Rays?

There are several things your dentist will be looking at when checking over your x-ray's. They can find out if you have cavities, look at the roots of your teeth, check how healthy the bony area around your teeth are; they can help diagnose periodontal disease, and, if you are a child, check how well your new teeth are forming.

What is so Special About Panoramic View?
Panoramic x-rays show the whole mouth in one picture. Dentists who suspect certain dental conditions like tumors, cysts, bone fractures, and other different things will use a panoramic x-ray to find and diagnose these problems so he or she can treat them.

How is the X-Ray Done?

The dentist will have you stand up with your chin against the metal bar of the X-Ray machine while biting down on a mouth-piece they give you. While you bite down, the machine will take a few pictures, depending on how many the dentist thinks he needs, of your entire mouth. This is a painless and fast way for your dentist to see what is going on inside your whole mouth so they can treat you accordingly.
