Reasons Why Veneers Need to Be Kept On After Getting the First Set
Posted on 3/25/2019 by Sandra Embree
There are different reasons why people get veneers. Some people want them to correct an imperfection in their smile such as a gap in between teeth. Other people need veneers because of cracks or chips in their natural teeth. Veneers can improve your smile and give you confidence. One thing that you need to remember, though, is that you should not take them off. Here is why.
In order for your veneers to fit properly, we will trim your teeth. This is not as scary as it might sound. We will get rid of any decay that we might see, and then we will make sure that the tooth or the teeth are level. This is important to make sure that the veneer fits correctly. With a veneer, your original tooth will still be there. We will just have changed it a bit so that the veneer will fit, and so that it will look natural in your mouth.
If There Is a Problem If you experience a problem with your veneers, do not do anything about it yourself. Instead, make the first appointment possible and come in so that we can take a look and see what is going on. The same holds true if the veneer comes off (that should not happen). Do not attempt to fix any problem on your own, let us take care of you instead.
Veneers are an easy way to improve a smile, but they need to be taken care of properly. Do not ever attempt to take them off, you need to leave them on. If you have any questions about veneers, or if you are wondering if they would be right for you, come and talk to us. We would be happy to give you more information.
The first step to a healthy beautiful smile is to schedule an appointment.
